As a young athlete, competing at a National level in two sports, I found it extremely difficult to balance school, training and social commitments. I often felt overwhelmed with pressure and the fear of failure, not wanting to disappoint those who sacrificed their time and money for me to compete. Lacking the support I needed at this time, I became burnt out and stopped enjoying sport altogether. With 80% of youth athletes quitting by the age of 15, there is a distinct need for increased awareness of holistic health to support young athletes. My experience has given me the tools to overcome the challenges many young athletes face. I now share this with my own clients so they too can find a healthy balance between life and training, manage their overachiever tendencies and EXCEL in both sport and life.
